Join us for a special weekend in the heart of the Peak District, based at the beautiful YHA Ravenstor, created for Muslims seeking marriage in a halal, natural, and relaxed setting. Inspired by the Qur’anic reminder that Allah places love and kindness between spouses, this expedition is about creating the right environment for meaningful connection to grow — through shared experiences, time in nature, praying together, workshops, and gentle Qur’an-based reflections and reminders throughout the weekend.
“Another of His signs is that He created spouses from among yourselves for you to live with in tranquillity: He ordained love and kindness between you. There truly are signs in this for those who reflect.”
(Qur’an 30:21)
The expedition is offered in two formats to suit different needs.
The Full Expedition runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, allowing participants to immerse themselves fully in the experience.
For those unable to join the entire weekend, the Part Expedition (Saturday Day Visit) offers the heart of the programme — outdoor activities, workshops, communal meals, and opportunities to meet others — all within a single, focused day.
At the heart of the expedition are three interwoven aspects.
First, we spend time outdoors in nature as a community, walking and reflecting together in the valleys and trails of the Peak District, allowing hearts to soften and conversations to flow.
Second, we take part in workshops and activities focused on self-discovery and relationship readiness, encouraging humility, patience, gratitude, and honest reflection on character, intention, and responsibility.
Third, the weekend is intentionally designed to create genuine opportunities to meet potential suitors — not through forced interactions, but in an environment that feels human, respectful, and real, where character shows itself gently and connections are rooted in faith, love, and kindness.
The entire weekend will be facilitated by Aisha Jasuleviciute (Aisha’s Sukūn) and Faisal Khaffar (Muslim Family Adventures). Aisha is a marriage and relationship coach known for her work on sakīnah (tranquillity), emotional readiness, and inner calm, helping individuals approach marriage with clarity and presence. Alongside group workshops, participants will also have the opportunity to book private 1-to-1 consultations with Aisha or Faisal during the weekend, offering a confidential space for personal reflection, guidance, and support.
This is a thoughtfully facilitated, heart-centred experience where those seeking marriage — whether joining the Full Expedition or the Part Expedition — can get to know others naturally through walking, cooking, praying, reflecting, workshops, team activities, and shared time together, supported by a community environment grounded in love, kindness, and tranquillity.
Accommodation
The Full Expedition is based at YHA Ravenstor, a peaceful countryside hostel perched above Millers Dale, offering some of the most beautiful views in the Peak District. Surrounded by rolling hills and limestone valleys, it’s a setting that naturally encourages calm, reflection, and meaningful conversation — an ideal environment for a heart-centred matrimonial experience.
Accommodation is simple, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, with shared rooms for brothers and sisters, as well as family rooms for those attending with their families (subject to availability). The hostel’s welcoming communal spaces are where much of the weekend unfolds — from cooking and shared meals to prayer, workshops, reflections, and relaxed conversation.
For the duration of the expedition, the centre will be reserved exclusively for our group, giving everyone the space, privacy, and ease to fully engage in the programme and enjoy time together without distraction.
(Please note: Part Expedition (Saturday Day Visit) participants do not stay overnight but are fully included in the Saturday programme and activities.)

Friday – Arrival, Grounding & Intentional Beginnings
Arrive at YHA Ravenstor from 4:00pm and settle in with tea and a warm welcome. The evening begins by gently grounding ourselves as a community, with space to meet one another, set intentions, and pray together.
As night falls, we head out for a gentle night walk through Millers Dale and the Wye Valley, pausing for stargazing and reflection under the winter sky. This quiet, shared experience helps slow the pace, soften hearts, and set a calm and reflective tone for the weekend ahead. We return to Ravenstor for hot drinks, informal conversation, and a relaxed wind-down.
Saturday – Self-Discovery, Connection & Meaningful Interaction
Saturday is the heart of the expedition. We begin the day outdoors, exploring Dovedale, one of the Peak District’s most beautiful and gentle valleys. Walking together in nature creates space for natural conversation, observation of character, and shared experience. We then spend time in Buxton to rest, eat, and warm up.
Back at Ravenstor in the afternoon, the focus turns inward with workshops and activities centred on self-discovery and relationship readiness, facilitated by Aisha Jasuleviciute (Aisha’s Sukūn) and Faisal Khaffar. Through guided reflection, Qur’an reminders, and group activities, participants are encouraged to reflect on humility, patience, gratitude, emotional awareness, and what it means to build a marriage rooted in love and kindness.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, there will also be time for free 1-to-1 consultations with Aisha (for marriage-seeking participants), offering a private and supportive space for personal reflection and clarity.
The day concludes with communal cooking and dinner, followed by relaxed shared time. These moments are intentionally unstructured, allowing meaningful connections and potential matches to unfold naturally, supported by the environment, facilitation, and shared intention.
Sunday – Integration, Clarity & Moving Forward
After breakfast and checkout, we head out for a scenic walk along the Monsal Trail and Chee Dale. The wide, open paths and gentle pace create a spacious setting for reflection, conversation, and integration of the weekend’s experiences.
We close the expedition with final reflections, duʿāʾ, and a gentle farewell, leaving participants with greater clarity, calm, and intention as they move forward in their journey. The programme concludes in the Peak District by around 4:00pm.

Throughout the weekend, we’ll take part in carefully designed workshops and group activities that support self-discovery, relationship readiness, and personal growth. These sessions are woven gently into the flow of the expedition and are grounded in Islamic values, reflection, and real-life application. The focus is on cultivating the inner qualities that sustain marriage — humility, patience, gratitude, emotional awareness, and responsibility.
Alongside guided reflections, the activities create natural opportunities to observe character and interact meaningfully with others. Whether through walking together, shared tasks, or facilitated discussions, these moments are designed to feel human, unforced, and purposeful, helping participants gain clarity about themselves and what they are seeking in a spouse.

Participants will have the opportunity to book private 1-to-1 consultations with Aisha Jasuleviciute (Aisha’s Sukūn) or Faisal Khaffar (MFA) during the weekend. These sessions provide a confidential and supportive space for personal reflection, helping individuals explore readiness for marriage, emotional patterns, inner calm, and next steps — all grounded in faith and sakīnah (tranquillity).
As part of the expedition, each marriage-seeking participant is offered a free 15-minute 1-to-1 consultation with Aisha, included within the overall price. This time is intended to offer clarity, reassurance, and gentle guidance. If booked separately, a session of this nature would normally cost £180, making this a valuable part of the experience.

The expedition is intentionally designed to create meaningful opportunities to meet potential suitors in a way that feels respectful, natural, and aligned with Islamic values. Rather than structured introductions, matchmaking unfolds through shared experiences — walking in nature, praying together, communal meals, workshops, and relaxed group time — where conversations arise organically and character is seen gently over time.
This approach allows connections to form without pressure, encouraging sincerity, good adab, and thoughtful consideration. By placing people in a calm, faith-centred environment, the expedition supports participants in getting to know others in a way that feels real, grounded, and intentional, with love, kindness, and tranquillity at the heart of the process.

Food is an important part of the Love & Kindness Expedition. Meals are prepared and shared together as a community, creating relaxed, natural moments for connection, conversation, and teamwork. Communal cooking is woven intentionally into the weekend, offering opportunities to observe kindness, cooperation, patience, and generosity — qualities that matter deeply in family life and marriage.
MFA will provide fresh, high-quality ingredients, prioritising local and organic options wherever possible. Participants will work in small teams to prepare meals, with clear guidance to ensure the experience feels welcoming, organised, and enjoyable rather than pressured.
Breakfast
We’ll prepare nourishing breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, including a selection of:
Eggs, tuna, cheese, and beans
Bread, cereals, and spreads
Fresh fruit
Tea, coffee, and hot drinks
Breakfast is a calm start to the day, allowing time to gather, eat together, and ease into the programme.
Lunch
Lunch will be simple and flexible. We’ll prepare packed lunches using the provided groceries, with the option to supplement with personal snacks if desired. This allows us to eat comfortably while out walking and exploring during the day.
Dinner
Dinners are a key communal highlight of the weekend. Participants will work in mixed small teams to prepare themed evening meals:
Friday: Arab / Turkish-inspired chicken dishes
Saturday: Asian-inspired lamb dishes
These shared meals are about more than food — they create space for teamwork, conversation, and shared responsibility in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
Refreshments
Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate will be available throughout the weekend, providing natural moments to pause, warm up, and connect.
Kitchen Facilities
The hostel’s fully equipped kitchen includes all essential cookware, utensils, cutlery, and crockery, making communal cooking smooth and accessible for everyone.
